A word from our recent recipients:
2025 Scholarship Recipient Myrta Leconte
This scholarship has supported my growth as a graduate student and as an emerging higher education professional. It allowed me to stay focused on my coursework and campus involvement, and the membership helped me build connections and gain confidence in my leadership abilities.
Being awarded this scholarship has also played an important role in advancing my academic and career goals in Higher Educational Leadership. The support reduced financial stress and gave me the space to fully commit to my studies and the student-centered initiatives I help lead on campus. Through my membership, I’ve met people who’ve offered helpful advice and encouraged me in my professional journey, which has strengthened my confidence and motivation.
I’m grateful for this opportunity and for the impact it has had on my development.
Thank you,
Myrta Leconte
2024 Scholarship Recipient Sohle Henry
The WEW scholarship was extremely helpful to me, not only because it alleviated the financial burden of achieving my educational goals, but also in opening doors I didn’t even know I needed. Being selected gave me the financial confidence to focus on my studies and truly excel; however, what has impacted me the most is the community I gained through my membership. The connections, support, and mentorship from the members have been invaluable. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from accomplished professionals, receive guidance on my career path, and become part of a sisterhood that genuinely wants to see me succeed. I’ve also genuinely had a lot of fun spending time with the ladies and building real friendships along the way.
This experience has encouraged me to aim higher, push past my comfort zone, and stay committed to my long-term goals. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities this scholarship has created, and I hope future recipients feel just as supported, inspired, and empowered as I have.
Thank you,
Sohle Henry
